Certain process conditions and products can generate more powerful explosions than typically experienced. Extreme explosion conditions such as high explosion velocities, small volumes, high reduced explosion pressures, etc, release forces during an explosion that can shear circular explosion vents from the frame.

Fike's innovative new design feature removes the risk of fragmentation, even under demanding conditions. The unique design of the Fike HI explosion vent includes a shoulder plate which provides a predetermined "folding-line" for the vent components to bend -- thus avoiding uncontrolled "shearing" effects.

This feature is available on three popular Fike explosion vents. The standard explosion panel's performance characteristics are maintained and the HI version is interchangeable with standard explosion vents.

  HI-CV Explosion Vent: For use in most industrial applications where the operating pressures (both positive and negative) are near to atmospheric.
 
  HI-CV-CF Explosion Vent: for use in applications where the explosion panel is exposed to severe pulsating and cycling conditions.
 
  HI-CV-S Explosion Vent: designed for use in applications where the operating pressure approaches the burst pressure range, or where high vacuum pressure may exist.
