A burst indicator or rupture indicator will give instant warning that an explosion vent has opened. It consists of an insulated electrical conductive strip attached to the opening part of the explosion vent. When the vent opens the burst indicator goes open circuit and provides the alarm signal to initiate shutdown or process changes. Extension cables are available in a variety of lengths.

To avoid energy loss or condensation effects, or to reduce acoustic emission levels of protected systems, Fike offers a standard insulation pack. (The added insulation is taken into consideration when establishing the required burst pressure). The insulation pack consists of insulation fiber fully enveloped in a water-repellant envelope.

Offering lightweight, corrosion resistant environmental protection for Fike Explosion vents, protection covers reduce the effects of dirt, wind, snow, etc. to a minimum, while safeguarding the functioning of the explosion vent. The Ex-Cover is designed to allow for an unobstructed explosion pressure relief, and to reduce the need for preventative maintenance. The Ex-Cover is also designed to allow integration of acoustic or thermal insulation.
